Psychologist, dating and relationship expert, Dr. Diana Kirschner, has appeared many times on NBC with hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford on the Today Show.   She presented love advice based on her bestselling dating advice book, Love in 90 Days., and addressed topics including: how to deal with lying, recovering from the loss of a love and what to do when life takes a left turn.  Dr. Diana also authored an article on Couples and Finance for the Today Show website.

“Finding Your Own True Love” is based on Dr. Diana’s bestselling book, Love in 90 Days: The Essential Guide to Finding Your Own True Love, published by Hachette Book Group.   “Love in 90 Days” has a special section devoted entirely to creating dating success for single women over 45.  In the exciting PBS program taped in front of a sell-out crowd in New York City, Dr. Diana shares her life-changing formula for creating lasting love plus simple steps couples can use to deepen intimacy and create more passion.

For single Boomer women, finding love may seem next to impossible, but Dr. Diana, citing extensive research, invites the audience to consider that the world is really filled with extraordinary possibility.  First she repositions middle age as extending all the way to age 85 because of the increasing percentage of men and women who are fully functional at that age.  Then Dr. Diana points out that the giddy swirl of romantic passion can be just as strong for those over 45 as for those under 25.   “Many older women have gone out there and had the adventure and excitement of their teenage years all over again.  With the wisdom of their years, they’ve created the kind of deeply fulfilling love that offers true friendship along with the chemistry of lovers.”  She concludes that, “Boomer women can partake in a world filled with abundant love.”

The program is divided into three acts: Breaking Deadly Dating Patterns, Discovering and Nurturing Your Best or “Diamond Self,” and Following the Dating Program of Three.  Various research is sited throughout each act which reinforces the approach.  In Act One, Dr. Diana describes the “heroine’s journey” by telling a fable that shows three distinct personalities/deadly dating patterns common in single women over 45: The Hermit who simply does not date; the Not-Perfect-I’ll Pass type who is too picky about men; and the I’ll-Make-You-Love-Me type who nurtures men who are not interested.  Dr. Diana describes the hidden negative beliefs underlying these patterns that ruin any possibility for love.

In Act 2, Dr. Diana focuses on “Discovering and Nurturing Your Diamond Self.” The Diamond Self is a woman’s most dynamic, self-loving and passionate identity– which helps her to envision and create love that is most fulfilling.
